Day 2865: PS - All Things Round

In an attempt to keep posting, I have drummed up a new series. Themed pictures! Why? Because themes are fun! And pictures are even more fun! :) The only rules for this series are to have recent pictures featured (within one month).

Day 2260: Ups and Downs

My weekend with my sister was glorious -- exactly what I needed, family time. However, the entire time my sister was here, I was stressed out beyond belief; thinking about all the things I should be or could be studying. Nevertheless, we had a helluva time and I love my sister to the moon and back. There are pictures below of our outings. What you don't see is a ton of eating my sister I did -- Cafe Centraal with Danny's family, a yumtastic breakfast/brunch at Danny's parents' home, Milwaukee Public Market -- the whole shebang.

Yesterday, Tuesday, was a sh!t-show. I was at school from 8:30am to 11pm, with probably an hour max of relaxation/hanging out on the internet/whatever, and I was so stressed about boards and finals and life that I cried twice (from sheer stress and panic) and called Danny to tell him I probably wouldn't be able to go on vacation with his family this summer (because I was so stressed out about boards). And then, to top it all off, I lost this earring that I just bought for my sister and I as a fun little sister-studs-thing. Sigh. What a bunch of crappy things at once, hey?

Today, I gave a little presentation at our class meeting regarding professional attire. It was (surprisingly) well received by students and staff and, if you have any interest in watching, I included the video below. If you have anything to say about the video, please comment below! I'd love to hear what you thought (good and bad).

All in all, it was a really nice start to the day given how craptastic yesterday (Tuesday) was. Oh. I also got my new iPad 4 (it's for clinic, not for fun...but I'll be using it for fun :P). My iPad 2 will be given to my parents/family in Taiwan so they can FaceTime.

As you can see, it's been a very up-and-down week. Off to study pathology (and everything else, sigh). See ya later alligator!

Day 1900(!): Summer To-Dos

Hello all. I wasn't planning on posting this until later, but today is Day 1900 of this blog and my journey. I just had to write something!

Whilst perusing one of my favorite blogs today, I saw that she wrote a little summer to-do list. I think this is an absolutely wonderful idea. Mainly because, as a medical student, this is my last summer. EVER. (Next summer I have my first board exams and then rotations begin in July, and then it's doctor-dom all day every day after that.) Here we go!

Summer 2012 To-Do List

1. Visit the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco (see image above).
   
2. Learn how to use my new camera...by paparazzi-ing friends, family and sights.
   
3. Visit people! Like my best friend in Indiana!
   
4. Be outside more -- eating, walking, anything.
   
5. Tailgate (something I've never done!) before a baseball game.
   
6. Study a little bit for boards. (Only a little! It's summer!)
   
7. Explore Milwaukee! Like the Third Ward, for example.
   
8. Whittle down my closet.
   
9. Books. Read some. Re-read some.
   
10. Play tennis! (Danny wants to, so there's a guaranteed partner.)

Day 1888: Florence + the Machine

An absolutely amazing experience!

I should let you all know, because Danny's middle name is "vain," he took most of these pictures. Apparently him being 5'9" is most evident at standing-room-only concerts when I am this tall and he is obviously way taller.

Also, what I love about this show was, I got to hear Flo speak. She has this very timid, quiet, almost shy voice. And then she sings. And then you get completely bowled over by the sheer power and magnitude of her voice and stage presence. AMAZING NIGHT!

Danny was amazing! He lifted me on his shoulders so that I could be raised up, as the song "Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)" (and Florence for that matter) tells you to do!

Day 1880: It's over!

Quick note, exam week is over! Thank heavens. I needed this week to go well and I have been pleased with the results.

Now, onto fun picture posts! Danny was a wonderful beau who took me out to see Rodrigo y Gabriela last Friday (the 13th, bum buh buuummm). And I have to tell you, it was a marvelous Friday the 13th! It began with seeing each other after a week apart (oh boo hoo, right? haha) so that I could focus on studying. We ran some errands where Danny bought me this amazing pullover. All a complete surprise, shock and utter joy! I am completely in love with it. I wear it every second I can! Seriously!

Next, we ate at Henry's Pub (where we had this delicious burger), which in and of itself was a sheer miracle. Long story short, Danny and I tried going there TWICE one day and never actually got to eat there. So, the fact that we got in, they were open, there was no surly bartender serving us and the food was actually quite delicious -- all good things!

Next, we headed on over to the show. Rodrigo y Gabriela rocked. my. world! They were just fantastic! The entire show was so entertaining and full of energy! I was astounded that our fellow concert-goers were just sitting there idly. I was tapping my feet, clapping my heads, bopping my head, dancing in my seat -- they were just so magical! Pictures below.
